Joe D. Lowdermilk, General Manager Tamiami Ford, Inc. 1471 N. Airport Rd. Naples, FL 34104 Dear Mr. Lowdermilk: This letter is to inform you that we have a difference of opinion concerning the error on our recent purchase of a Mustang. The salesperson may not have told you that I asked him about the bottom line several times. My exact words were, "Is this the bottom line?" and his answer was "Yes." At the time the papers were signed, I did not realize that an error had been made, and Im sure that your salesperson did not realize the error either. If so, why would he tell me that the contract I signed was the "bottom line" price? On 3/28/05 Tamiami Ford charged my credit card $3000. Was this after you found the mistake? On 3/30/05 Tamiami Ford cashed my check for $5835.27. That was one day after the first phone call to my home. It is my opinion that, if you thought there was a problem, you should have stopped the processing of all transactions and contacted me. At that point you could have requested that I either pay an additional $1000 or return the car and nullify the sales agreement. What occurred was Tamiami cashed my check, charged my Visa, then contacted me and said Tamiami Ford was going to hold the title until they received an additional $1000. Not only that but they have my 2001mustang GT When I contacted you, you said the idea to hold the title was yours. That was not a very sound business practice. I have a signed agreement for this transaction, and nowhere on the agreement does it state that I owe and additional $1000. You could have contacted me, held my check and the charge of my Visa, and given me the option to return the car and cancel the transaction entirely. Instead, I received phone calls which said, in essence, pay the money or we hold the title. The error was not mine, and had the situation been handled in a professional manner, I might have been willing to meet you half way. I trust you understand my position and will send me the title to my car immediately. I fulfilled my part of the signed sales contract.
