My name is DawnMarie. I recently purchased a ceiling remote by Hampton Bay at Home Depot (on Cropsey Ave in Brooklyn, N.Y). The model number is this product is: UC7067RC. The SKU number is: 191-691.

 

Around 6:00 am, my fiance and I heard a noise and we both jumped up. When we did, we saw the light flashing and smelt smoke. Of course, my fiance jumped up right away and shut all the power off in my home. I saw my super of my building and asked him to come up and check everything. He did, when he took the remote out of the fan, it was burnt and half melted. As he put it, if we werent' home this would have caused a fire in my home. I also have a 8 year old son who lives with me.

 

Truthfully, this matter is not over yet. I am very upset. Truthfully, if my home would have gone up in a fire or anyone in my home would have gotten hurt, Hampton Bay would regret being in business.

 

Again, this matter is far from being over by me.

I bought the same remote a couple of weeks ago and it no longer works. Same thing happened to a different HD Hampton Bay Fan with built in remote I bought last year - I had to take it apart and order a new reciever unit for the canopy which they sent me no charge. No more HB products for me.

Home depot is a mess!


I was in line for 45 min! When I got to the checkout the lady told me that I wrote the wrong #'s down for a code on the wire I cut. The problem is I didn't cut it and I didn't write the code down. Another employee from the store did. I had to go back and find the correct code and stand in line again! Terrible service! ...Then again when i got to the checkout they forgot to put the wire in the bag. When I got home I was furrious! I called and nobody knew nothing. I went down and talked to the manager where he pretty much gave me a new wire and that was it. I feel like he didn't do anything special to make me want to shop there again. What a joke! I just sent them a letter using www.complaintsmailed.com that should arrive on their steps soon. I hope they listen to the letter! The last one i sent to the airlines worked well.

Hi my name is carmelita, The exact thing happen to me the fan box also has burn up I also have 3 children in my home so i thank god it happen when we were right their and was able to shut are power off. Their is no number to call to complain so what to do now?
