5/3 Bank Lease

5/3 Bank Lease 5/3 Bank Lease
I am so furious with 5/3 auto leasing. I wanted to see if I could find a website to write to them. How UNshocked I was to find so many complaints listed about this company. I leased a vehicle four years ago and really liked it. I contacted them about purchasing the vehicle. They gave me this whole crocky story that was a bit confusing. Thinking I understood it, I hung up. Later I was going over it with my husband and was a little confused... so I called back. Got another person... different story.... different terms... different figures. Okay, now I'm really confused. My husband and I talk it over and decide that this might be too much of a hassle, we would be better off just buying a new vehicle. I call 5/3 again (big mistake) only to get more crap of a story.
However, this person assures me I can sell the vehicle to a dealership if they are willing to purchase it. Okay... this is where it starts getting good. We go vehicle shopping. I find a sweet truck I would like to purchase. The dealership calls 5/3 for a payoff amount. 5/3 gives them a different figure they give me AND tell the dealer that if I sell the vehicle before the end of the lease it is considered a "voluntary repo". What the @@@@! Now I'm really pissed. The dealership naturally wants nothing to do with the vehicle. I call them again. They deny telling the dealer this info. Why would the dealer lie? Anyway... this time I'm given another story.
By this time my husband and I are saying... Okay maybe we'll keep it. We do love the vehicle and it will be lower payments than a new truck. Now we are being told that after we make our last lease payment and they post it, we can call and negotiate a lower buyout. Okay... this sounds better, let's try it. Our last payment is due July 1. We decide to send it a little early so we can get this over and done... besides our credit union is running a vehicle loan special for the month of June. I call 5/3 two days ago to discuss a lower buyout. Now I'm being told that I owe $140 in late fees. I say yes... I did, but I paid them back in 2002.
They deny it and say I never paid it... I need to provide a cancelled check. Okay, now my blood pressure is going thru the roof. How the @@@@ am I going to get a copy of a check from sometime in 2002. I don't even know when I paid it exactly. Okay, now they transfer me to another person. This person says "I will forward a request to our underwriter department for a lower payoff. Call me tomorrow after 8:30pm to find out the payoff. My name is Jim Sweeney at this number and my extension is 89970." Fine... I call back the next day and GUESS WHAT!!!!! Jim Sweeney is not in... he has the day off. So I talk to another dud... he says he'll resubmit it and to call back today. I call back today... Jim's not in again. This time I talk to Kyle at extension 89979. Kyle tells me... "Oh your vehicle is worth more than the payoff we gave you. We can't sell it to you for less than the payoff which is X amount." Well this amount is higher than they told me a few months ago. I question him about it. He tells me, "We have not yet received your last payment." WHAT????
You cashed my check and you say you see it on your system, but.... "it won't clear against your lease until the payment is due, July 1." Now I have never heard anything so stupid. They cashed my check, have my money weeks early, but they won't post it to my account until the due date? Who do they think they are? They really have the nerve. Well screw them. I went and bought a new truck tonight. They can have their vehicle back.... come and pick it up, baby. They take their vehicles to an auto auction. Well, you want over $11,000 from me for it? You'll never even get $9,000 for it at the auction. To top it all off I ask for an address to send a complaint... Kyle gives me an address for the "Office of the President".
Yeah right, you know where that letter is going. It's getting trashed without being opened. So here is my revenge. Public airing of my grievances with an ignorant, rude, scheming, greedy, stupid company. I work in Customer Service for a large worldwide corporation. If ever even came close to treating my customers the way I was treated, I'd be out the door on my butt. Well you know what? They can now kiss my butt. Jerks!
