1-800-CALL-ATT

On a recent trip, I'd left my cell phone at home and had to call about being picked up at the airport. I used 1-800-CALL-ATT ("Free for you, cheap for them") and was charged over $10 for a 3 minute call. If I'd had any idea it would have been so expensive, I would have used the $1.00 for four minutes

offer on the pay phone I was using. I expected something like $.30/ minute (which is still six times the rate I pay for long distance at home, and slightly more than I would have paid if I'd fed the pay

phone), not over $3.00. I've already filed a complaint with the FTC accusing AT&T of false advertising ("cheap"? I think not.) and encourage all others who've been scammed by this particular offer to do the same.
