860.249.2500 Fax I want people to know that CEDF discriminates against Americans. Although our tax dollars support the ability for CEDF to give loans to minorities and woman. African Americans are being denied at an alarming rate. I am an African American woman trying to open an Arcade/used video game store and was verbally denied for consideration for a loan. Sarahi Jordan stated her reasons for her verbal denial that were false. Everything she said I did not have was clearly in the index page and easily located in the Business Plan. She never read the plan.

She even ran a credit report and tried to use the fact that I filed bankruptcy a year a go and they can’t base there denial on that because I have re-established credit. Ms. Jordan, knowing that I am black, refused to read my plan and then lied that she read it. CEDF has not forwarded anything in writing stating their reasons for denial even though I formaly requested it. They pushed my plan to the side, never returned phone calls and did not respond to emails. Because of the adequate amount of time that had passed, the store owner could not hold on to the property and had to rent to someone else. Beware if you are considering doing business with CEDF you should think twice and us a different loan agency.

They let at least 2 months go bye before I finally reached them by phone and they gave me their verbal decision under false pretence. Do not let them run your credit report if you are establishing credit because it is truly a waist of time. Mind you I am in college studying Business Enterprise and my plan was reviewed and edited by my professor and he found no reason for a denial. CEDF are not trustworthy people. BEWARE
