I purchased a wall mount for an lcd tv, from circuit city on June 4, 2005. The sales person assured us it would fit.The cost was $160.00 with taxes, and I wrote a check the sales man told me he had 3 different addresses for my last name. I told him the address which was not in his computer, and he told me lived in the subdivision next to us. I made out the check and gave him my ID. The wall mount did not fit so my husband took it back on June 5, 2005 2 days later. The told my husband he could not get a refund for at least 2 weeks, and this was the exact wording the young man Terry said. Circuit city waits till the check clears because they do not want to take a chance on giving FREE money. This young man is supposed to be a manager. Well, we still haven't received the refund and check cleared on June 8, 2005.
My husband and I have spoken to at least 6 to 10 people regaurding this and the manner in which this has been handled along with the attitude that has went along with this. My husband emailed customer service yesterday(june 27, 2005) and they wrote back making every excuse in the book on why I haven't got my refund.
When you call customer service you now get someone in a foreign country that absolutely does not understand what you are saying, and if they do not like it they hang up on you. This morning I received a phone call from someone with just 1 name and I could barely understand. She said the check was sent out but went to a different address because I was not updated in their comuters. Then for some reason they got my address and sent the check back out today. How obserd that is. First, the check I gave them has my correct name and address, phone # and my husbands drivers liscence # on it, and at the time of purchase I gave the sales man my ID.
In the email I receieved today they said they sent out a check on the 6th of June which is a flat lie because they put my check through on the 8th of June. I told this women with the one name that is in charge of sending out refunds that if I did not receive this check within 48 hours I would call my attorney. this is rediculous I took their product back because and only because it didn't fit, and because I did not want a gift card this is what I get.
And to tell me that they wait for the check to clear to give a refund incase the check bounces is crazy because if you bounce checks then you can't write them. Meanwhile they have my money and their product, and it has been almost a month. Who do you call, it is my money, and they treat you like KA KA....
