Wal-Mart at Grand Ave, Surprise AZ 85374

On March 24, 2004 I went to Wal-Mart at Grand Ave, Surprise AZ 85374, to do some shopping. Since I am disabled with my right leg (Severe RSD = Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) I went through one of the aisles and the shopping Cart got caught on a half open ladder extending into the aisle and leaning on the shelf. Since I use a cane in my right hand and pushed the Shopping Cart with my left hand both hands were occupied, thus I could not untangle the Cart.

I fell down and the ladder fell and hit my right knee. The Manager at Wal-Mart phoned 911 and I was taken to Del Webb Hospital for treatment. Wal-Mart refuses all responsibility and will not pay the medical bills. They are telling me it is my fault; I should have seen the ladder. I can not understand why they will not accept responsibility for this situation. Barbara
