accounts at Sears accounts at Sears
I have a problem with the way Sears does business! I got a call yesterday from a collection agency stating that I was three years past due on a payment of $140 to Sears. I was not even aware that I still had an active account with Sears. I have not received an invoice, bill, statement or anything else from Sears for the past three years. The collection agency was very rude and told me that they could not answer any questions as to what, where or when the purchase was made. They said that I just needed to pay them... I called Sears to try and understand what was going on and they were even less help. They had my address slightly wrong - one wrong number in my zip code. They said bills were sent unpaid for three years and turned over to collections. Sears could not confirm when the $140 was charged to my account or by whom.
They then said that they could no longer help me. They input the wrong zip code into their computer so I never received a statement. I have never had a problem paying my bills.... when I get them! Now I must pay this when I am not sure its even my bill - there are no records.
Sears had my telephone number - but rather than call to find out why their invoices were being returned to them, they sold the account to a collections firm. The collections firm also had the wrong address and spent a year sending invoices to the wrong address before calling me. Because Sears does business this way and is incredibly rude when their customers have questions or concerns I nor my extended family will continue to shop there. At this point, I would love nothing more than to watch this company continue to loose money and go out of business. John

Not send bills to people for months, tack on a bunch of interest and late charges, and demand payment. Anyways, I just got the call from them 10 minutes ago. Does anyone happen to know where I can find the details of that suit again?
