I purchased a Magic Chef electric smoothtop range since 1993. The first time the F-1 code began to beep endlessly was two years after purchase and had been doing almost every two years since then. The last time we had it repaired the technician said he is always replacing the panel.

 

this last time I called customer service and they told me there was never a recall for this problem and even said they don't get any complaints about the F-1 code. I asked them what happens to my

complaint and she said it would be looked at but I will not get any response. I asked her to indicate I want a response from them and she said she would write on the complaint but cannot promise I will get an answer.

 

Apparently MagicChef is not interested in quality of their product or correcting a design defect. I am not going to fix this stove anymore and will never recommend any of their products. I have in the past, purchased a few maytag and magic chef products but now will not support a company who won't try to correct an obvious defect.
