I purchased a Ultrex Fryer from HSN on April 16 of 2005 and received the first one on April 22. Within the first 3 weeks of owning the product the heating element started smoking after several uses. I sent it back to HSN for an exchange. (HSN did this just fine no complaint there) This one arrived on May 19th and once again after less then 2 months the on/off switch is not functioning.

This time I was refered to INOVA/ULTREX company where I was told to send in the element and base along with 9.95 to return it to me. I asked if there was any other recourse should the next unit fail and was told that I have a year warantee and no refund is possible on this product. So bottom line if the subsequent units last as long as the first two I will have either doubled or maybe trippled my original purchase price.

This product should be recalled and this company investigated for selling JUNK to an unsuspecting public and overinflated prices. Is Ralph Nader still doing this I want to contact him or his organization regarding this company. Rose Click this link to e-mail the message author: Email User
