Dear Complaints.com: This is for your information and concerns a service facility that services gas engine driven powered equipment and the alike in western New York. The name of the firm is: Powered Equipment Services, 3331 Union Valley Rd. Olean, NY 14760 716-373-3992 Mr. Carl Snyder owner This is just so you can make the public aware of what may present a problem with the servicing of powered equipment in the future. I have been in need of my chainsaw for several months now. I took my Homelite chain saw to Powered Equipment in good faith for repair. According to the Mr. Carl Snyder it would be necessary to purchase a flywheel and flywheel key to get the chainsaw operational once more. I asked him on several occasions if he wanted some money so he could purchase the said parts. His answer was always no! I have been following up or at least trying to follow-up with Mr. Snyder but to no avail. By sheer coincidence my wife and I saw him at the Home Depot store on July 5, 2005 at 4:05 pm. I politely asked him how the repair was progressing on my chainsaw and when I might expect to have it. His answer was and I quote,” I got flywheel and I taped the key to my computer so I guess when I am good and ready….maybe in a couple of months”. Then he laughed in a pompous cocky manner like a bully showing off to his buddy’s. He also told me that if I wanted to that I could pick up the saw and parts and take it somewhere else for repair. I just shook my head in discuss. I thought to myself why in the hell did I take it to him in the first place? Then I remembered “Homelite told me to”. If he didn’t want to do the repair why didn’t he just tell me so? If at some point in time I were to pick up the saw I definitely would not accept the parts. I am sure there is a mark up on these parts so however repairs the equipment should be rewarded. I contacted Homelite customer service 1-800-242-4672 also.
