Two weeks before the 4th of July, I called Honda Marine in Seattle and asked what their waiting list for repairs on my 8hp outboard looked like... they told me they could prolly get it done by the end of the week if I brought it in soon . 4 days. I brought it in early the next morning. It has now been three weeks, Ive missed the 4th of July, and they have not even looked at it yet. This is the second time Ive had it there and have had similar troubles both times. I highly recommend NOT going to Honda Marine on North Lake Union in Seattle. I will be taking all my future repairs to Lynwood Honda The extra hassle of taking it there is worth it! - Jeff Click this link to e-mail the message author: Email User From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Thursday, 07-Jul-05 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI haven't used these guys for service since I service my own 8 HP outboard. I've only bought parts from Honda Marine. I have had no trouble with buying and getting parts. I found the "uber bitch" mentioned in the prior post to be very professional and seemed to know the motors well. On the other hand, I recently tried to buy a propeller from Maritime's Honda Marine Center on NW Market in Ballard (Inflatable Boatwork's doesn't answer the phone??) and the guy didn't know the difference between a BF8 or a BF8A. Never mind that both models were sitting on his show room floor. Not surprisingly, he ordered the wrong prop thus waisting a week of my time. They do not have the online version of the Honda parts database, just the books, so you better know exactly what you're looking for if you deal with these guys. Same bad service as before. Only improvement is that the uber-bitch receptionist seems to not be working there anymore, so you don't get abused over the phone anymore. Now it's just a complete waste of time to deal with these guys, with the inflatable boatworks guys trying their best to stay professional covering for the service department.
