Hampton Bay Fan at Home Depot in Rocklin, CA Hampton Bay Fan at Home Depot in Rocklin, CA
We purchased a Hampton Bay Fan at Home Depot in Rocklin, CA because we were doing a remodel to our entry and we have had a similar fan in our master bedroom for 7 years, no complaints, however after installing this fan with remote (model no. 233798) and 4 ft. downrod on a 16 foot ceiling the fan not only doesn't work, but we discovered that 2 of the blades had only 1 hole drilled through the housing instead of 2 !
After triple checking the electric source and our splices we found nothing out of order so have to assume the receiver is bad ! I was told that I could bring the receiver in for testing ,but who wants to have a fan that cost $190 with improper attachment of blades?
The "rest of the story".... I'm 76 years old ,the scaffold used to install has been removed by workmen and to get any satisfaction, I HAVE TO TAKE THE FAN DOWN AND INTO THE STORE and then I find out Home Depot owns the company that makes Hampton Bay Fans ? I'm NOT a happy camper. If they can't come up with the quality quit bragging about it ! ! By the way, $21.96 of that cost was for a 4 ft. down rod, a simple 3/4" pipe , a complete rip-off !
