On Sat. 7-30-05, I purchased 2-gal. of PPG solid stain from your Rhinelander store, the clerk who waited on me was a young woman by the name Amandea or Manda who I learned later that she was the paint area manager. This person was very rude to me when I asked her if she was the person who mixed the custom stains colors, her response was,(what ever) after receiveing the mixed two (2) gals. of the stain I proceeded to the check out counter to pay for the stain when I noticed that one of the gallions of stain had a very large dent in the side of the can. I brought to the attention of the check out clerk and she advised that I return to the paint department with the damaged can and request a differnt can of stain because I felt that due to the dent in the can it looked to me that the can would not seal properly and that it would cause the stain to dry out before I used it. When I showed the damaged can to the person (Amande/Amanda) and explained the reson of returning it for a different can, she very rudly commented to me," if the can didn't leak when mixed it won't leak for you" this clerk then again very rudely asked me when I planned to use the stain and my comment was I'm not sure but it will be soon, she then contiuned to tell me in a very stern/rude tone of voice that it has to be used in two weeks!! or it will lose it's stain quality!!! I have painted/stained many inside/outside buildings and have never been told that a quality stain/paint would lose it's properties is not used in a certain amount of time. I stain went to the front of the store and asked to see the store manager and told him (Schwane) that I was of the opinion that I didn't need or was rudely told on when and how to use a product by a employee/manager of the Menards paint dept. I also requested that I speak to the person ((Amande/Amanda) in person regarding this complaint and informed her about her rudeness and that I was making a complaint about her conduct!!! Her response was to go ahead!! I am a long time customer oof Menards and have spent considerabe amounts of money in the Menards stores, but after this expierence I feel that I can take my business anywhere/elseware if this is the type of treatment a customer receives from a employee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
