07/29/05 I received a call from Midwest Resorts that I won 4 free airline tickets, a $25.00 Home Depot gift card, dinner for 2 at Timberlodge Steak House, 4 Rounds of Golf, and $20 gas card from Holiday. I had signed up for a chance to win Viking’s tickets at Isanti County Fair about 2 weeks ago and let me know that I didn’t win the Viking’s tickets but I did win the other prizes I just need to go to Edina to pick them up. When I asked the 16 year old (found out later her name was Joy Thompson) on the other end of the phone what I had to do to obtain these prizes she said, “Nothing. There’s like no catch!” I kept asking her questions and finally agreed to pick them up at 6:00. I asked her for directions and of course she didn’t know how to get there. She asked her boss to talk to me. Her boss, Romeo, got on the phone and couldn’t give me directions either. I then said I can just get on mapquest and get my own directions and not to worry about it. Romeo then recapped my prizes and said ok and we have your reservation down at 6:00. I didn’t know anything about a reservation. I asked what the purpose of a reservation was when I am just picking up the tickets. He said, “Oh well, you have to go through a tour first and then you’ll get your prizes.” I asked him how long the tour was and he said, “oh it’s not long on average it runs 90 min.” I then looked this place up on-line and found these other complaints spanning the past 2 years. This is not cool in my book at all. Danielle Fridley, MN Click this link to e-mail the message author: Email User
