Sears Card Credit Bureau Reports Sears Card Credit Bureau Reports
Fifteen years ago I applied for and received a Sears card. It was nothing but trouble from the time I got it. There were always charges on the account that did not come from me. I called the customer support line many times only to be told they could not help me, that if I didn't know where the charges were coming from, then neither did they. I became so frustrated with the account, that I just stopped doing anything with it. I cut up the card, and refused to pay one more cent until they could prove I actually owed the money. As you can imagine, the amount ran up to twice my original limit. It took twelve years for Sears to finally send it to collections, and I was contacted by the collections agency.
I paid this amount off in 2002 to the collection agency via phone. I have the documents to prove it was paid. In January 2005, I was trying to purchase a home with my new husband. I was notified that Sears still shows up on my credit report as I owe them $500. I produced my documents, which show I do not owe them anything. The mortgage company advised us to remove me from the application. Even though I could prove I didn't owe the money, unless the report is corrected, it doesn't matter. This is now July 2005, and I just attempted to get a credit card and was denied because it states there is an account with a long and large overdue balance...SEARS! I cannot seem to get this lifted from the report. Sears does not seem to have anyone who can help with this. I would appreciate any help you could provide.

All 3 of the major credit agencies have recently been successfully sued for giving out false and outdated information. And you can sue them for the amout that that claim you owe. Also for pain and suffering and anything else your lawyer can think of.
