National Rental Car National Rental Car
Hello, My complaint is against National Rental Car at Sea-Tac airport. I dropped off my rental car Friday, July 22, 2005 at around 6:00 PM, that I had since Tuesday July 19, 2005.. I realized that about half way home that I left my CD pack in the car. Since I live only about 7 minutes away from the airport, I decided to go all the way home to be absolutely certain that I didnt unload my CDs before dropping off the car. I got home and didnt find the CDs so I knew that I left them in the rental car. The CD pack consisted of 17 CDs that cost between $17.00 - $20.00 each. I immediately called National, and told them I just left dropped my car off and left my CD pack. I gave them the code numbers on my receipt, and they pulled my account right up. I asked them to locate my CDs and that I live close, and would come right back and get them. I was told that I had to wait and they would see. They ask for my number so they could call me back. I ask the person that I was talking to what for his name, and he wouldnt give it to me. I asked to speak to a Manager, and then he said I will have to put you on hold.
After remaining on hold about 5 minutes, I handed my daughter the phone, so she could tell me when I was off hold, I then got my cell phone, and dialed the number again, calling lost and found leaving a message for the regarding my CDs. I dialed another number and talked to a lady telling her that I was on hold on another phone, and that I just wanted to come pick up my CDs once they confirmed they were there, and let me know where to pick them up. She was very helpful, however, she seemed more concerned about putting a good spin on the fact that the person refused to give me his name, and left me on hold at that time for ten minutes. My oldest daughter then got on her cell phone, and tried to get someone to help. She was told that the car was going to the wash, and they would call her back if they found something. I gave the lady that I was talking to my number, and let her know that my other daughter was still on hold, now 15 minutes. She called me back and said that as soon as they located the car they would look. I let her know that it couldnt be that difficult since I just dropped it off. At any rate, my daughter was still on hold no 20 minutes. My other daughter on her cell phone talked to someone named Antoine, who seemed really concerned and was trying to see if he could find the CDs. After 30 minutes of being on hold, either we hung up or the call was dropped. At around 7:00 PM, I received call from National saying they didnt find my CDs, which was odd because I knew they had to be there.
We asked them to do another in-depth search of the car, because we knew that the CDs were there. They came back to the phone and said that the CDs were not there. We were told that I could call Administration on Monday. I believe we got another call I dont remember the day reaffirming that they did not find the CDs. At that point, I pretty much figured that someone had my CDs and I would never get them back. I got a call on Wednesday July 27, from lost and found letting me know that they had my CDs. I told her that although I was happy to have the returned, I was not sure why they showed up almost a week later, when I call 5 minutes after I realized they were missing, and was told that the CDs were not there. I guess in a nutshell, I am complaining about the service I received when I try to retrieve my possession. I was placed on hold for 30 minutes on my home line; it is a good thing that my daughter and I had cell phones, so we could keep calling about it. By the way, the guy name Antoine was not the one that kept me on hold for From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Saturday, 30-Jul-05 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
