www.a1vacations.com/pelicanpoint/1/ The pictures are beautiful, aren't they? Too bad it doesn't reflect reality! We had planned a special trip for my son's high school graduation as well as a nice family trip in Spring 2005. The entire family was going along with family friends - more like the step kids! The excitement of the trip for everyone was huge. We took the Discovery cruise over - this is where it all started. The ship was filthy and the food awful. If you are staying for a duration of time you have to wait hours to get off the ship at port. The check in to the boat and check in to Bahamas customs was even worse and SLOW in eith croken down buildings with no air conditioning or filthy broken down buildings with no air conditioning. The house as they say close to Freeport... you have to be kidding! It was at least an hour's drive in the middle of nowhere. If you were to break down - I would think you might not make it out alive. The roads are washed out and have pot holes bigger than I have ever seen in Chicago. The house is also in the middle of a very run down cult-like neighborhood. Everyone there is related to the preacher. The boat in the picture, you can forget about it. It is the owners. The boat you get is 14 feet piece of dangerous junk on the side of the yard - doesn't start and has no life/safety protections. Assistance: Oh go see the Rev Lang for everything, he or his extended huge family will provide you with everything... so they say. It more like some family member is always on the property or looking in the windows. The car... well it's a cadillac. It just happens to be a million years old and every time you would need to drive it you have to add water and oil. Certainly not a vehicle that you feel safe in or feel can make the entire ride to where you are going. Not to mention, it stinks inside. The house... looks great from the outside doesn't it? Several of the beds were water beds w/o enough water. The sheets and comforters were worn and old. Bathrooms: Mold, Mold, Mold and bugs, bugs bugs... you could watch the bugs crwal in a line and travel up the wall in to the ceiling. Outside patio furniture: So worn out you might just fall through Some of the door locks are broken and unable to lock. Windows in the bedrooms were so caked with dust and dirt you didn't dare open them for fear the wind would provide airborn infection. This was wonderful considering the air cofitioning went out for 4 days. And the kitchen, appliances were extermily worn out. The dishwasher barely washed the dishes and the washing machine and dryer were so rusty on the top. The washer did not agitate and the dryer took 3 hours to dry one simeple load. Being in the kitchen was an event, had to dodge BUGS BUGS BUGS crawling on all the cabinets and countertops. They would have their nightly family reunion the dish sink. In the morning there were thousands! The revered said, ah not much we can do about them, they come in through the screens...Don't think so, this house was infested! They were even in the beds! The kids woke up with multiple bites. We complained and tried to come to a financial resolution with the owner Annie Kelly... she refused - she had her money! I would not reccomend this property to my worst enemy. If you want to venture to the outskirts of the island, do so on a scooter or rental car - dont stay here!
