I did a search for these guys the first time I heard a message on my answering machine asking for me by my married name (which I haven't used since my divorce 10 YEARS ago). After dealing with them, I'm not surprised there are so many complaints. I'd like to add mine to the list. As I said, they asked for me by a name I haven't used in 10 years, which immediately had me wondering. They claim I have a bank account with Washington Mutual (which I never have), but can't provide the account number or even the type of account. I called WM myself, and they tried to look up any accounts that were opened with my social security number... there aren't any. In the meantime, believing I was a victim of identity theft, I had them put an alert on the account, flagging it

as "do not call for 30 days," and filed a fraud alert with the FTC.

During my first round of calls on July 1, I spoke to four different people. One of them insisted that I had to pay it FIRST, and then worry about whether it was fraudulent. I knew that was wrong (and illegal!),

and told her so. She screamed at me that I had to pay it because it has my social security number on it, and is thus my responsibility, and went on about how I was a deadbeat and just trying to dodge my bills, and then hung up on me. The other three were nicer, but no more compentent than that one. On July 27 (only 26 days later), I had another message on my machine, and called back to find out why they were calling me again when there's supposedly an alert on my account. I spoke to possibly one of the rudest people I've ever talked to, who essentially told me it's not his problem, he's just doing his job by calling me, he doesn't care if it's harassment, and if I'm not going to pay it, I was harassing HIM by calling. He also hung up on me after his tirade. Called back, got someone nicer who informed me that the person I spoke with originally "must not have known how to put the alert on," and so she did it herself. I've gotten copies of my credit report from two of the reporting agencies, and am waiting on my third one. So far, I'm not seeing anything that looks remotely like this account on my report. Given how

many other people have been called about non-existant accounts, and have been unable to receive any documentation from ER Solutions about the supposed accounts, I'm starting to wonder if this isn't just a group of people who find out social security numbers and then call the people, hoping they can get them to pay out without questioning it (or, as the first rep suggested, pay first and then question it). This is a horrible, unprofessional, unethical company. I've read the entire Fair Debt Collection Act, and I don't know about the rest of you who've had problems, but my next step will be the attorney general in my state. I Keep getting calls from these people, and they ask for me to verify my name and then ask me to verify the last four digits of my social security number over the phone? I continue to tell them I refuse to do that, and they keep calling from different numbers, and in a very non-professional manner!
