Avis's legal fraud?

Dear Complaints.com

I had sent the fowlloing message twice to Avis's customer service. But there were no answer. But Avis's attitude was too intentional and too bad to forget. I searched and found your site for rent car problems. Please let it know all the customers to prevent that kinds of fraud. Thank you for your help.

Sincerely yours.

Dear AVIS customer service - Please read carefully and reply to me -

I had rented a car at the CDG airport (rental agreement number ; 919791331). This was my 2nd retal car experience from AVIS. The first was Canada in 2003. At that time my family had a great time due to AVIS. At this time, I have had a plan to attend international lung cancer conference in Barcelona (IASLC). I want to go Barcelona by car and want to see France and Spain. So my initial reservation was unlimited kilometers (confirmation number 23755612KP6). But at the CDG airport, I want to change my car equipped with navigation (GPS) system because I don't know the road of Europe. I asked, received Mercedes Benz (car no ; FR 269AKW60) and informed about the total rental price as 1071 euro. I had signed the contract. But when my check-in day, I was very surprised for my total amout (1962 euro). I realized that my contract had been changed as limited kilometers (1,500 km), so my extra kilometer charge was 731 euro. I asked the clerk why they had changed my contract without noticing me. She said that this car is too special so there was no unlimited KM. I can't understand her explanation, I argued with her for a long time, but I have to catch a flight then I paid my charge(1962 euro). Who will have limited KM contract if he had a plan to go Barcelona. I think that your clerk have had a mistake for making a contract. So I want to refund my extra KM charge with combining taxes. I expect your honest decision. Thank you for your help.

Sincerely yours Changho

Hi there, you are not alone. Briefly about my experience with AVIS in Adelaide, Australia. We have rented a car a few times for work related purposes. Everytime I had to remind them about Frequent Fleyr Points allocation, they seem to be forgetting that part. However last time we rented a car for one day and my trip was very well documented. What a surprise was to see a bill (that I downloaded from the Internet for my Fr Fl Points claim)which contained 3 "errors" : $54 fee for re-fuelling, $24 for "optional" personal insurance and $47 for excess km - total of 389km. Now - the car was refuelled just before the return and we have receipt; nobody offered us an insurance, therefore they should not have charged for that, but most amazing - I have travelled about 130km plus I added 50km for the incidentals - this can be easily checked, because I visited Telecom sites, and everytime I had to call security - to let them know I was on site. But they charged me for 389km!!! Still waiting for reply from AVIS. We have been overcharged $125 for one day. Considering taking this matter to Police.
