I ordered a piece of furniture from Home Decorators.com in early June 2005. The invoice stated this piece was out of stock, but would be shipped in 3 weeks. After the initial 3 weeks passed, I contacted the customer service dept., only to find out the date was pushed back an additional 3 weeks! The event I needed the furniture for had passed, but I still waited. I was told if the date was going to change again, they would contact me so I could cancel my order. After the second date had passed, I contacted customer service again, the delivery date was pushed back again, this time to late July. I was assured this was the final date, and it wouldn't be changed. Well, I called today and found out my table wouldn't be shipped until late AUGUST! I could have found a suitable piece of furniture from a reliable store by this time. I can't believe I waited the whole summer for this. I am truly disappointed and feel that lack of compensation on Home decorators part, means I'll be telling a LOT more people what terrible customer service they have. THANKS for the push, Home decorators! I think Home decorators should take another look at their mission statement: "We will lead our catalog market by providing our customers with the merchandise they want and service that exceeds their expectations". Now THAT'S false advertising.. I placed an order for an area rug and had ordered a round rug by mistake when I actually wanted a square one. I called immediately after I placed the order and was advised they were getting ready to close for the day and the order would not be accessable by them for at least an hour. I called and emailed them the very next day and was insured the order was changed to a square rug. A few days later I get another email telling me that my "round" rug would be delayed a month by the vendor. I called them to cancel the ordered because at this point I did not know what I was getting or when I was getting it. The very next day I received an email advising me that my "round" rug had shipped. Again, I called and they tried to tell me how nice it would be to have a change of rugs (since I had already ordered one somewhere else) and that they would discount the rug for me. Regardless of all of the telephone calls and emails, they did not resolve my problem. Now I am waiting to decline acceptance of delivery of a $799 round rug. Niceness is not customer service; results are! Very frustrating ordeal!!!! Yes some times things get delayed but it isnt the company that is at fault it is the manufact that is to blame. I love shopping at this company and now they have stores From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Friday, 07-Dec-07 00:48:55 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
