Dear Diane, Please accept our apologies for any misunderstanding. The introductory offer that you responded to called for a free pair of pantyhose later followed by a 3-pair shipment unless the customer instructs otherwise. Information that was included with the free pair of hose also mentioned that another shipment would be sent to you within 4 to 5 weeks. As requested, I have closed this account. Please keep the hose with our compliments and be assured that there is nothing owing on the account. Again, we apologize for any misunderstanding and we thank you for trying Silkies. Silkies has been providing millions of satisfied customers quality hosiery products for over 25 years with our Made-To-Order hose service. The offer you received was to introduce you to this service. At Silkies our products are fully guaranteed and you always have the option of returning any products that don't meet your needs. Should you have questions concerning our hosiery service or other products we offer, please visit our web site, www.silkies.com, or call 1-800-969-3695. We hope that you will enjoy the quality and fit of our hosiery and that we can be of service to you in the future. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Dean R
HCI Direct, Inc. - Silkies - unethical business practices, Supposed Account # 106844358-8 HCI Direct, Inc. 3369 PROGRESS DRIVE BENSALEM, PA 19020 To Whom It May Concern, I represent another angry consumer. The account # in question is 106844358-8. Near the end of 2004 I received a package from Silkies. I never ordered anything from Silkies, so I disposed of the package. A few weeks later I received another on-ordered package from Silkies along with a bill. Let me state clearly that I have no intention of paying for any shipment of Silkies. I disposed of that package also, even though according to the Mail Fraud Statute (Title 18, United States Code, Section 1341). Federal law prohibits the shipment of unordered merchandise. Such a practice may constitute an unfair trade practice. Merchandise mailed in violation of United States Code may be treated as a gift by the recipient without any obligation to the sender. I did not order any merchandize for Silkies or HCI Direct, hence I am not willing to pay for something I did not order. I Demand that HCI Direct, Inc. do the following: 1) Remove my name from your billing department's database records and all other records because we do not want or wish to be a "customer of your". 2) Provide me with a written response within the next 15 days (no later than January 25, 2005) assuring me that HCI Direct, INC has eliminated the account (#106844358-8 ) as well as my name from your database with nothing currently to be owed or in the future and that NO further shipments will be mailed to the address on the account. I also request that my name and address NOT be sold to any other company whether it be a Telemarketing entity or otherwise. If this simple request is not met, I will immediately take action and contact the Postal Inspection Services and the Attorney General's Office, BBB as well as notifying anyone and everyone. This kind of fraud should be stopped!!! I'll not pay this invoice and if I receive any other correspondence I will consider it to be harassment. Any future shipments of your unwanted hosiery to me will result in legal action. Sincerely, Diane R. PS: complaints.com, please send this to appropriate person. Thanks.
