It's laughable how some people consider Dell's customer service/treatment of customers to be somehow "reputable."

 

I ordered a 2300 home sytem from them in October of 2002--the online deal at the time ( I still have the print-out copy) called for a choice of two PENTIUM 4 processors ( a 1.80 GHZ or a 2.0 GHZ); they, for some unexplainable reason, sent me a CELERON instead. Now, I was ill at the time I received it, and did NOT set up the PC system for well over a month after having it delivered--thus, not noticing their HUGE mistake right away.

 

When I started bringing this to their attention, they immediately pointed out it was MY FAULT for not noticing THEIR mistake in a more timely manner; they offered ONLY a $100 credit which was supposed to make up for a LIFETIME of hassles, stress and frustration using this INFERIOR, slow, system--one that I DID NOT order. Here's the topper: I've ordered TWO ADDITIONAL systems and peripherals from them SINCE THEN (spending THOUSANDS of dollars)--trying to prove that I'm a loyal customer--one that only wants what’s fair and for them to rectify such a mistake; I also have a FOUR YEAR at home warranty on the system in question.

 

Bottom line? NOTHING seems to matter to Dell when it comes to common sense and/or admitting their mistakes. Question: If YOU were running a business and one of your most LOYAL customers had such a major problem/issue, wouldn’t you bend over backwards to take care of that mistake IMMEDIATELY? I've tried COUNTLESS avenues in order to bring this to the Dell "higher ups"; they're probably MUCH too busy spending time on their yachts in order to address problems of the people who have AFFORDED them that lifestyle in the FIRST place...

 

Please refrain from buyng Dell products; you'll be much better in the long run and save yourself from a MYRIAD of problems and heartache..Thanks..
