emachines XP

I purchased an emachine with an installed XP home operating system. The system crashed with an "error loading operating system" message and when I opened the emachines XP package to repair or re-install XP it was empty.

I called emachines but they claim it is out of warranty and will not provide me the missing XP disk. They want to sell me one.
