‘L’Officiel India’ and ‘Seventeen India’

To, The Editors

ELLE, GLADRAGS, FASHION BLOOM, VERVE, SAVVY, INDIAWALI BRIDE, COSMOPOLITAN, PLUS Dear Ma’am Although you must be aware that apart from your ace publications there are two more fashion magazines in the market named ‘L’Officiel India’ and ‘Seventeen India’, edited by Ms. Superna Motwane, however, I am sure you must not be knowing how theses two publications taking readers for a ride in order to increase their sale. Like every second magazine of their domain. ‘L’Officiel India’ and ‘Seventeen India’ too are giving some incentive to the letter writers in form of gifts, ranging from Perfumes to Jewellary. However, the real story behind this publicity gimmick of ‘L’Officiel’ an ‘Seventeen’ is that in the first place these promised gifts are not delivered at all or if a stubborn letter writer takes the matter too far he is silenced by giving some petty thing, but never the real gift as promised earlier. Since I am one of the victims I can categorically endorse that theses malpractices are taking place in these two publications. My prize for the April 2003 issue of L’Officiel India has not reached me as yet inspite of umpteen reminders. The worst part of the story is that the editorial team just keeps mum in this regard and neither responds to emails nor faxes. Moreover, I am not the solitary case. I read about them in the Grievance Section of a leading daily where a letter writer like me had narrated his woes. My reason of bringing such malpractices in your knowledge is that, being co-publications you can impress upon Ms. Superna Motwane to stop such con-activities otherwise genuine letter writer would stop believing even quality publications like yours. It is not a matter of a bottle of a perfume but the credibility of responsible journalism. Regards KABIR Click this link to e-mail the above consumer: Email User Consumer
