We purchased our airline tickets on October 26th with Bon Voyage Travel in Lancaster, PA to fly Lufthansa on December 16th and to return on the 28th. We were asked to pay $1552. for two round-trip tickets and charged an additional $160 by our travel agency that we did not realize was to be charged.
On our return flight on the 28th, we were told that our flight#1414 did not depart at 11:55am as stated on our Itinerary, but would not be departing until after 1pm (we also did not have our reserved seats as stated on our itinerary).
I had called the night before our flight and thought that the information given to us could not be correct, so we arrived at the airport 2 and a half ours early to straighten out the problem. We were informed that we no longer were flying Lufthansa, but US AIR !!!!! The reason we did not buy the cheaper tickets with US Air was because of the problems they and their customers were experiencing.......
We paid and extra $250 to $300 more a ticket to fly Lufthansa and now we were being BUMPED off Lufthansa and onto US Air. We would have taken the later flight if we did not have someone waiting for us in Philadelphia to pick us up. DO WE TRY TO GET REIMBERSED BY LUFTHANSA, US AIR, OR OUR TRAVEL AGENCY ?????
