This complaint is a manipulative fabrication. We would never accept an order with the conditions stated in paragraph 3.
We tell people that transit time by ground courier is usually 3 - 8 business days and not guaranteed. 1 or 2 day air courier is also available. It is guaranteed. We are very upfront about this. Anyone can confirm this by calling us at 1-800-661-2333 or emailing us at COMPLAINTS.COM_FORM_MAIL_72185#.
This shipment would have had to arrive on Friday June 4th to meet her deadline of Sunday June 6th. This is only 6 business days from the date of the order being placed on May 27th.
She placed her $34.95 order knowing full well that the transit time for "ground" (non guaranteed) courier shipments is 3 - 8 business days. Faster 1 or 2 day "Air" (guaranteed) courier options were declined by the customer.
This order was shipped from our warehouse the same day it was ordered and delivered within 3 - 8 business days.
We attempted a settlement early on. This customer has since received a credit.

credit not received for returned glow sticks
I have already contacted the BBB of Canada about this matter and it is in the process of being resolved.. However, I did want to post my complaint online so other consumers would be aware of this particular company's business practices.
The company's name is HSS Wholesale of Abbotsford, BC, Canada. They maintain a website which sells glow in the dark products.
On May 27 of this year, I ordered 100 glow sticks. I informed the person who took the order that I needed these glow sticks for an event on June 6th, and that if I didn't receive them by the time of the event, that I would ship them back. I was told by the salesperson that I would receive them by the specified date, but that if I didn't, that I needed to send them back to the company, and not the shipper. These were the only instructions I received.
Unfortunately, the glow sticks did not arrive in time, so I return shipped them back to the company and asked them to credit me the value of the merchandise. After repeated contacts with the salesman, after sending him receipts of the return, statements that indicated they charged my visa account, invoices, I never received credit. I was frustrated that even after all the contacts, the salesman actually tried pretending he didn't know me or know what I was talking about. This company was just hoping that I would go away. Now, 6 months later, and after dealing with the Canadian BBB, they agree to credit me the merchandise less 25% restocking fee!
They've had both my money AND the merchandise for 6 months. I should be the one asking for interest on my money. Besides, nowhere on their website is posted a return policy, nor was I made aware of this fee when I spoke to the salesman about the possibility of returning the items should they arrive late. This is just another indicator of the kind of business I was dealing with. One that has no scruples and has no interest in customer satisfaction. I have purchased from online businesses for the last 6 years and I have never, never had to deal with such an obnoxious company as this one. I would highly recommend buying your glow in the dark products somewhere else!
