AOL netmarketing AOL netmarketing
I was contacted a long time ago about AOL netmarketing, so long ago that I can't remember the particulars except that I told them I didn't want their service because I wouldn't use it. They told me something like it was free for the first three months, so I might as well use it. They also said something about giving me $50 worth of credit.
I thanked them but told them I didn't use stuff like this because I didn't like the reoccurring charges and I wouldn't use their service anyway. I don't completely trust internet transactions, especially offers that come with enticements that seem too good to be true. Also, I buy things that I want....I select them rather than look through catalogs of stuff I don't need anyway. Where is the savings if you are buying things, even at bargain prices, if you didn't need them in the first place?
Anyway, I looked closely at the charges on my credit card this month, and found that I have been charged for AOL netmarketing for the last 11 months. I talked with "Ali", presumably in Ohio, and was told that I would have to provide credit card receipts of the charges, that they weren't affiliated with AOL and they would cancel this membership.
When I called AOL, they were familiar with this (affiliated with AOL) and gave me a number to call....the same number that I talked with "Ali". My trust of AOL has, understandably, plummeted. I have gotten conflicting information everywhere I have turned. Please advise me what to do to get a refund of the $88.00 that has been charged to my account, even though I didn't want this service in the first place. One other fact...I asked "Ali" to check....I have never used these services.
Disappointed.
