Acewigs.com is one of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I purchased and paid for a Revlon Clip-on hairpiece on 12/1/04 that was intended as a Christmas gift. As the end of December neared, I tried several times to contact their customer service reps and inquire whether I would receive the shipment in time for Christmas. Neither emails nor telephone messages were returned.

Although their web page insists that orders will be placed the next business day, the site showed my order as "in process" for 6 weeks. I was forced to purchase the gift elsewhere. Beginning on 12/27/04 I sent a series of several more emails asking that my order be cancelled. The backorder policy posted on their web page defines a backorder as a product they are waiting for from the manufacturer.

The policy goes on to state "If we cannot provide you with the product you requested we will charge your card back at once." That was not my experience. The first several emails were ignored until I sent one with their backorder policy attached demanding a full refund of my $57.00. I received a one sentence email back inquiring "who told you it was on backorder". Subsequent emails again were ignored.

I received the item yesterday, 55 days after the order was placed and paid for. I shipped the item back to them today, again requesting a full refund. If the item was not on backorder, and therefore entitled to a refund, then why did it take 55 days for it to reach me? I intend to let as many people as possible know what a terrible experience I have had with Ave Wigs. They do not follow good business practices and the consumer should be protected. Thank you for your assistance.
