1999 Pontiac Intake manifold lower gasket leak

I have a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix , 68,000 Km and the intake manifold lower gasket has failed and coolant is leaking to the exterior of the motor. GM has advised that the car is 6 months past the five year warranty period and they will not repair the problem. I checked for parts availbilty at a local dealer and was advised they have lots on hand. Cost torepair was quoted at between $700-800.
