Best Buy - Gaithersburg Maryland Best Buy - Gaithersburg Maryland   I purchased a cd player with a 4 year warranty-when I brought it in to have it repaired the clerk told me that they would have to ship it to be repaired . I spoke with a manger because I was moving at the end of January and the warranty was up on the 21st of January> I was told that I would be required to drive all the way back up here (6 hrs)to pick up my repaired stereo because the service department would only ship back to the store it came from.
I asked if it could be shipped to me at my new address once it was shipped back to their store and was told that Best Buy would not do that because they could not absorb the cost of shipping it to me- I then offered to pay for the shipping for the to ship it from the Maryland store to my new address- I was told that that was unheard of and that the stereo had to be picked up at the store it was sent to.
I then asked if I could have someone pick it up for me if I provided him with a note that was signed by me and notarized-I was told that I had to pick it up in person.I was told that I was beating a dead horse and that those were the only options available to me. I was also told that it was not their problem that I was moving and that the warranty was up before that date.
