carpet / carpet installation carpet / carpet installation
sids carpet barn 285 E. Carmel St. San Marcos, CA 92078 Two installers came to install carpet in my house and installation was so bad the next day there where huge wrinkles in the carpet in the living room. The bedrooms had pockets/buckling at the corners. Another bedroom had a bump running from one end to the other. They came to fix it four times and still couldn't get it right. One of the times they came back to stretch the carpet they didnt even move the furniture.
From what I understand you cant stretch carpet with furniture on it. We asked if the 30 year old carpet tacks were okay during the original installation, the installer said yes but when they came back to do the repair a different installer said they should have been changed. So he put down new carpet tacks but didnt secure them to the floor!!!
Currently it is lifting from the carpet tacks in the living room. They claim that because we didnt have tile in the adjoining rooms at time of installation that is what created the problem. I told them there was nothing anywhere on the floor, they had a clean slate to work with, so they knew there was no tile when they sold me the carpet. It wasnt an issue when they were taking my money but they are using it as an excuse now.
We took them to court because I just wanted it out and my money back. The installer lied and said we wouldnt let him in the living room which is so ridiculous. He was actually there to fix the bedroom that time. The judge said I should have paid for an independent contractor to determine that there was something wrong with the carpet. I had pictures and thought that should have been proof enough. So now they don't have to fix the carpet and they got away with doing a horrible job.
