Gocollect.com - Internet Collectible "Cooperative"
Gocollect.com is an internet site that seems to represent a bunch of small gift shops located across the country. I placed an order for Two Exclusive Charming Tails (Fitz and Floyd)
collectibles. The two collectibles arrived and boy was I disappointed to
find out that one of the items was damaged. This is a $60, exclusive/limited edition piece (98/379 Sleigh full of Joy). To a novice, it appears that the damage was done at the small gift store represented by Gocollect.com and that gift shop made an attempt to repair the item. This resulted in an ugly glue stain. No problem, I thought. Gocollect.com has a published 30 day return policy
and promises that all e-mails would be answered within 24 hours. I sent an e-mail to Gocollect.com, through their online Customer Support form, on Monday, January 31st and again on Thursday, February 3rd asking for an RA
number and instructions. On Monday February 7th, I tried to contact them at the 1-800 number provided on my invoice. This number is no longer in service, so I was forced to make
a Long-Distance call to New York. The New York Phone number gives four
options, the one for refunds and returns transferred me immediately to an answering machine. I left a message with all the pertinent information, including my cell phone number. Now I was starting to get nervous, I was leaving on a business trip that evening and wouldn't be back in town for 12 days, long past the published 30 day return policy. The voice message said if you were getting this message it was because of peak calls, so I tried several more times throughout the
day. Now, it's Tuesday February eighth, I'm out on a business trip and still haven't heard from this company. I made two phone calls; one in the morning
right after 9am ET and one in the evening just before 5p ET. I even left
a third e-mail, explaining the situation. In a week of attempts at contact, Gocollect.com has made no attempt to answer any of my e-mail messages or to return the phone message that I left
for them. The bottom line, I will never do business with Gocollect.com again and I would urge you to do the same. They have a large site, advertise availability of many items, but pray that you have no problems with your order, because you won't get any help. I am having the same sort of problem. I ordered something for a grandmothers first christmas. I have yet to get any emails confirming my order. I requested a status update, no answer. I looked for a phone number on their website - there is none.
I just sent a cancel request. I hope it goes through.
DO Not recommend Gocollect.com
