Del Taco 2269 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA

My boyfriend and I went into Del Taco yesterday Feb 6, 2005 to place an order for food. As we are placing the order my boyfriend watches an employee making the burritos drop a tortilla on the floor and pick it right back up and stick it back onto the tortilla warmer to serve to guests. We promptly cancelled our order and left.

As we walked to the car in disgust my boyfriend decides to go back in and get the manager on duty's number and the employees name so we could report this. The shift supervisor on duty Veronica or Isabel has the nerve to ask well why did you come back? Well hello you people are serving food that you have picked up off the floor to give to the customers!

He explained what had happened and when she confronted the employee she denied it and said it was a wrapper. Since when do you put wrappers on the tortilla warmer? He saw her plain and simple and even if it was a wrapper it was still picked up and was going to be used to wrap someone's food but it was defiantly a tortilla no doubt about that!

We have called Del Taco and no one will call us back. This store is unsanitary and disgusting and the employees should be reprimanded for doing something like that. The Shift supervisor refused to give us the employees name so we have taken this as far as we know how and are still waiting for Del Taco to call us back. A. Harris
