Purina Nestle is poisoning our pets

As of the end of 2004, until today, February 21st. 2005 and as a result of pet food consumption for Domestic Animals (Dogs and Cats) made in Venezuela by PURINA-NESTLE, approximately well over 400 dogs as well as cats have perished (registered cases until date). The main basic symptoms are: vomits, decay, loss of appetite, urine with strong scent. Syndrome: acute hepatitis (irreversible damage of the liver) and generally violent death of respiratory stroke.

Nestle knew since October of the 2004 about the contamination of pet foods prepared by them and nevertheless did not bother to take immediate and proper corrective action, neither the general public was informed. A couple of weeks ago they announced via the local press (in a very small article) the retrieval of some of the production lines within the Venezuelan market and God knows any other Countries within the Andean Pact, (Dog Chow, Cat Chow, Faithful, Friskies, Perrarina, Puppy Chow, K-Nina, Nutriperro, Hoop, Gatsy and Pajarina), as the source of deaths of our pets.

Nestle committed itself to study, cover medical expenses and reimburse cost of all food bags (by showing the proper proof of purchase) as well as death of our pets.

The Pain and grief caused to hundreds of pet owners is not a matter of payment in monetary rewards. Nowadays it continues with advertising of pet foods in the Venezuelan Web page, as if nothing happened.

We asked ourselves: WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO US IF WE PRESENTED DISPLAYED FOODS THAT CAUSED THE DEATH OF OUR PETS IN (SWITZERLAND), THE US, EUROPE OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY WHERE CONSUMERS ARE PROTECTED BY LAWS AND STRICT STANDARDS, FOR THE LIVES OF PETS AS WELL AS PEOPLE?

According to CONFIDENTIAL information, there is no assurance that contaminated raw material (corn), used for food production of animals, and has not also been used for the manufacture for OUR BABY foods (this a rumor).

Still they continue selling in several stores and or supermarkets around the country. Please alert all of our close friends and their acquaintances on this issue.

Nestle rests assured that in what they consider third rate backward Countries these issues are a little nuisance that will go away after a while. I don’t want to go into accusations but why do we have one of the three City Mayor’s in Caracas making public declarations saying that they are fully satisfied with the measures taken by Nestle. Where does he get the proxy to speak on behalf of the Venezuelan Government? Why doesn’t the ministry of health speak up?

I don’t want to go deeper into this as it may be considered a Political issue and would damage the point we want to drive at so I leave it at each persons own discretions, any Venezuelan that reads this is well aware of what I am talking about.

If Nestle wants to take legal actions against me for what I am saying I am more than willing and glad to make a huge issue out of this. I am not using any Yahoo nor Hotmail to hide behind but an easily traceable Email Venezuelan address.
