Grocery Stores & Drug Stores

Slowly shopping has become more and more of a challenge

At one time merchandise had to have prices on them, that disappeared with the bar codes and scanning. Also, in some cases, visability of prices being rung up has disappeared..

Then the stores decided the shopper had to have a "preferred customer card". Does this mean they don't want me or my money if I don't have a card?

This brought about the difficulty of knowing the price of an item. There are either an abundance of price tags or none at all. If the merchandise is on the bottom shelf - forget it. You have to get down on your hands and knees to see the price and if the tag applies tp the merchandise in question.

They take time to point out all the money you are saving with that piece of plastic, but no reply when you point out there were sale prices before the plastic for everyone. By the way are these things really legal - it is a public store?

Some fast food resaurants don't even give you a sales slip. All you can do is hope the clerk rang-up what you ordered and that the price is correct, maybe I'm suppose to carry an adding machine around with me.

And now they've come up with a new gimmic. A device that scans 1,000 items in one second. I doubt that I'll be able to read that pricing strategy. All this for only .40 cents an item to the customer. I'm suppose to pay them so that their records are more accurate. Isn't that what the present system was suppose to do - or don't they know how to use it?

All in all shopping is taking more and more , and becoming more and more frustrating! Isn't there any protection out there for us? Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope someone out there can help bring some sanity into a very time consuming and frustrating chore.

Sincerely,

Carol P
