I am writing to post a complaint similar to those of others who have had their credit cards fraudulently billed by AOL for a service called "AOL Credit Alert." I have no idea what this service consists of, but my credit card is billed periodically, every three months or so, for amounts of $79.99 to $89.99 - the price has reflected an apparent increase over the past year.

AOL is almost impossible to deal with on this. They promise to cease billing and yet it keeps popping up. They request billing records faxed back to them, with no result. The bank says I have to deal with AOL.

I value my AOL account, but the most recent charge, dated January 2005, is the latest reminder that AOL cannot be trusted. Be very watchful of their charges to your credit cards.
