I own a 1999 Dodge Dakota. After 48,000 miles I could not put my truck into reverse. A trip to my Dodge dealer revealed that my transmission could not be repaired and that it would have to be replaced at a cost of $4,000.
I have read other complaints about Dodge transmissions failing at low mileage. It is unacceptable for a transmission to last less than 50,000 miles. Unfortunately, this is my second poor experience in a row with Daimler Chrysler and I am sure I will no longer purchase one of their products.
