MCI phone disservice - MCI number- 973-437-2125

My family has been getting a series of phone calls from an MCI number- 973-437-2125. These calls occur about 5 times a day, and there is never anyone on the other end. We've taken to not saying anything when we pick up the phone, and we notice a series of clicks, followed by a hang-up. My local phone company (Qwest) lists a MCI Annoyance Call Service at 1-800-243-7216.

When I call them, they says they're for law enforcement services only, and then referred me to 1-800-677-6580 [calling it the National Escalation Center].

The person who answers that number doesn't have a clue, but when I told here the problem, she promised me that our number would be cleared from all call lists, but said it would take up to 7 days to effect a change. I'll believe it when I see the damned calls stop. Stever
