On Sunday, February 13, 2005, I purchased two bars of Lucerne cheese at The Genuardis/Safeway in Mapleglen, PA.
The next day, I was about to open the package when I noted the expiration date, July 2004. The cheese was 7 months past its expiration date.
Today, I drove all the way back to the store and showed the cheese and my reciept to the manager. He provided me with replacement cheese. I was not offered any alternative eg my money back, etc.
In Pennsylvania, if a cashier rings up the wrong amount due to a bar code error, you are entitled to receive the product for free. However, if they sell you a food item 7 months past its expiration date and you must take an hour of your time to drive that product many miles back to the store, all you get is newer cheese.
