Bad Transmissions Bad Transmissions
After talking to many people on the streets and on the internet, it is apparent that the transmissions that GM, Ford and Dodge made during a four or five year time period were inferior. Two of my children had transmissions that failed and had to be replaced.
One vehicle is a 2000 S-10 pickup (which started acting up at 50,000 miles and failed at 70,000 miles) and the other is 1999 Yukon (which went out without any warning.
I personally own a 2002 Avalanche with 41,000 miles and the transmission has started doing what my son's 2000 S-10 transmission was doing before it went out. The automobile manufactures should be liable for the replacement and/or replacement costs. I have driven many Chevy product for 200,000 miles and not had a transmissions fail.
I have three family members retire from GM and am ashamed that GM would put a transmission like these on the market. The automobile makers need to do the right thing and recall these transmissions.
Here are additional transmission problems:
Lady, at church, daughter's transmission went out in her Dodge at 16,000 miles - was replaced under warranty
Man, at work, Ford transmission went out at 70,000+ miles
Many other transmission failures on the internet
