Curves Offer Curves Offer
While perusing the net, I had a pop-up for an ad that said "Free Curves Membership". Sounded great to me. I'm on disability (need liver transplant) and I've wanted to join for some time, but just can't afford it. Anyway, as I'm clicking away, offers are given and you HAVE TO check at least two - that's only the beginning.
After purchasing books, a Gevalia coffee maker and coffee I read - in very small print at the bottom of a page - that at least 5 offers had to be "checked" (purchases would be required). I abandoned that ship because it made no sense.
Of course, the charges had already been made to my checking account. It's like I was slowly pulled in not knowing the entire story until I was up to my neck in it. I think this is quite sad. It takes consumers for granted and doesn't divulge the true facts until the end. So, a free membership might be great, but you end up spending money on all these other things that you just may not want. The page I aborted on gave me choices that do not pertain to me, i.e. home loans (I don't want to own a home), life insurance (already have that), home improvement (I don't own a home), etc.
It does not allow you to skip the page - you must make a choice or just abandon the effort. Yes, I do feel like an idiot. Will I ever do that again? Not unless I lose my memory totally. I think whomever owns that site should be reprimanded or shut down. The site is owned by consumerincentivepromotions.com. So, do I have any recourse? Thanks for any help you can offer. I appreciate it very much.
