frigidaire range

August 30, 2005

I purchased this range from Lowes of Joplin, Mo. in November of last year. Within 30 days the front handle on the oven door fell off. Lowes department manager gave me a replacement and I figured it was just a glitch, no problem.

The handle has now been replaced 3 times and I filed a formal complaint with the company. They sent out an adjuster and a "certified repairman" to access the problem. Both said that this was a poor design and would report their findings. Yea, right. It's been over 30 days and no response, not one. I have a "new" range that has been duck taped together for the last 30 days.

When this handle falls off, as it did last time, it left parts that were so hot, 450 degrees, to be exact, all over the floor. And still no way to get your food out of the oven. So trying to put this door back toghether resulted in several burns to my right fore arm. Did the Frigidaire people care? Their only concern was if I was going to sue.

I have bought and been a loyal customer of theirs for many years. My father sold their product and I was a loyal follower. Not anymore!!!!

I have been forced to retain a lawyer and seek legal action against the manufacturer, repair facility, and the place of purchase. Only because I cannot have a range that does not dimantle itself and try to burn my house down, and they would rather disconnect my calls when I call their number 706-860-4110, than to try to rectify the situation.
