Wicks Furniture - Algonquin, Illinois Wicks Furniture - Algonquin, Illinois August 30, 2005 I purchased a bedroom set from Wicks Furnitiure. My wife and I discussed in detail what we wanted as far as pieces, the bed, drawers underneath as shown on the showroom floor, a toy chest, dresser and mirror, nightstand. The sales person said you do not need to purchase all of that individually, I can give you a package price. When the furniture was delivered only drawers for one side of the bed came on the truck. I immediately called the store and they explained that the bed does not come with drawers for both sides even though I had indicated I wanted the drawers. They said they have had this problem with other customers. I was told by the sales person a manger would have to take care of me and he would be back from vacation the next day - a Sunday and he would give me a call. I called the store Sunday and was told the Manager was out sick. I was left a message on Monday, the sales person said the manager agreed to sell me additional drawers for $150 which was 10% off, If I was not happy with that I could call the store manager or have the furniture picked up and be given a credit. I called the store and was told to come in an speak with the manager he was in until 9 that evening. I went to the store and was told the manager was on a conference call and was not available. I argued that I was sold a package and had indicated I wanted the drawers under the bed, had no idea they were two separate unts and was never told they needed to be purchased separately. The customer service person said he would have the manager call me - he never did. I called the store back and the sales person said he would purchase the furniture for me, it was his mistake. Wicks is the worst store I have ever dealt with. I have spent $8,000 with them and they do not care. I have received damaged furniture, they show up to fix it with the wrong parts and never call back. They deliver furniture (a desk) missing pieces and tell me they have no immediate deliveries available and I have to drive 75 miles to their warehouse to pick up the pieces and all they offer is a small credit for the inconvenience. This firm should not be in business and will never see another dime of my money.
