I booked 2 rooms for what I thought was June 27,2005 one night stay. I arrived at the hotel to find that my reservations were not there. Fortunate for me and my family there were 2 rooms available. I returned home and called hotel.com and asked why I was charged by them for the reserations when they weren't there. I was told that they had on file 2 rooms (reserved by my credit card for July 27) I conceded that it may have been my era and that I needed to cancel the July 27 reservation as I had been there June 27. I was given a cancelation confirmation number and thought that was the end of the mistakes.

 

To my surprise I recieved a charge for one room for the July 27 date. When I called hotel.com they told me that only one room was canceled and it was a room I had put in my sons name. (On my credit card). I told them I was the one that cancelled the rooms on my card and that I had cancelled both rooms aproximately 27 days prior to the July 27 date. I was told that the room I had put in my sons name had been canceled but mine was not. I told them that was thier mistake as both rooms were being payed for by me, I had called to cancel my reservations for that hotel due to date mix up.

 

Even with notes that tell of the date mix up and my wanting to cancel my reservations they are refusing to do anything about the charge from the hotel to me. I intend to report this to the attorney generals office in my state as this seems to be a repeated mistake ( or purposely made) by hotel.com. Any further ideas to bring them to bare for thier errors would greatly be appreciated.
