Sharp TV

Sharp TV Sharp TV August 29, 2005 Beware, Don't buy at Best Buy. Customer service is not part of their corporate policy and they do not honor their warranties. My wife and I paid $700.00+ for a TV 2 1/2 years ago. Last November the built-in DVD player stopped working. The extended warranty has a lemon law provision. It also says repair services will be performed on at our residence and that after 3 repair attempts, if the TV still does not work, we will receive a $700.00 store credit towards another TV. Well here it is August of 2005 and we still do not have a TV that works. In fact we have not seen the TV for almost 2 months, (no loaner provided), because they said that they it had to go to a repair shop and if we refused to let them put it in a shop that they would void our warranty. They took it after 5 attempted repairs. Based on Best Buys own comments and the number of attempted repairs, they have spent close to $2,000.00 trying to fix this thing. We just want another TV. We have made numerous phone calls and written letters. The letters go unanswered and as for the phone calls, all we get is lip service. They also said that if and when they decide they can not repair the TV that we will not get a $700.00 store credit. They said that all they are obligated to do is give us what they consider is a comparable TV. Well that not how we read the warranty. We will never buy from Best Buy again.
