I purchased a Shark 13" cordless sweeper in April 2005. By August of the same year, the flimsy squeegee insert failed. The squeegee stops debris from leaving the vacuum when cleaning hard surfaces and directs it into the dust canister. I called customer service and was told the squeegee could only be ordered with the brush, and gear box assembly. The part could not be ordered separately. The cost for the parts assembly is $20 +$5 shipping. The unit only cost $60 new. Perhaps this is how they make a profit, by charging customers for cheap parts not covered under warranty. I took the sweeper back to Lowes who, with some negotiating, exchanged it for a new unit. It's too bad the unit has cheap parts, because when it works, it works well.
Thanks,
