Update to American Promotions complaint of August 14 http://www.complaints.com/directory/2005/august/14/7.htm by me

As an update on this topic http://www.complaints.com/directory/2005/august/14/7.htm, both my friend and I finally got our checks 8 months after we submitted our rebates. Just to let everyone know that after complaining to the company, in the misc.consumers newsgroup, through the Trenton NJ Better Business Bureau http://www.trenton.bbb.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&ComID=0221000026001589 which still has an unsatisfactory report on the company, Office of Consumer Protection for the State of New Jersey, Bergen County Consumer Protection Office, this topic on FatWallet.com at http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.php?catid=54&threadid=508709&newest=1, the Federal Trade Commission, and sending complaints to David Lazillo at Kodak and Customer Service at Schucks/Checkers/Kragen (CSK Auto), we both finally got paid so complaining and posting on the Web pays. The rebates were sent after I provided faxed the rebate submissions and emailed our addresses our addresses to Barry Buehre

and also called the 888 number for American Promotions as well. Mr. Buehre had written to me in response to my faxing copies of both rebates to the fax number above. The two $5 checks were signed by Mitchell "Mitch" Graff, President, American Promotions, 106 Country Lane, Clifton, NJ 07013 1-888-727-5600, 1-973.777.7000, 973.778.0734 Fax In case anyone else didn't get paid by American Promotions of Clifton, New Jersey (NJ) and has a judgement they would like to garnish (I figure if they didn't pay us until the screws were applied, there might be others as well), the check was issued on PNC Bank National Association 55-760/312 and the routing numbers are 031207607 (bank) followed by 8016547816 for the company's bank account number. Keith "Bulldog or Pit Bull or No-No-Boy" Gormezano responding to a bullying email from Mr. Graff mailto:amerprom@ optonline.net which said "We ask that you update your posting with your statement that the above complaint has been satisfied or delete the posting. Failure to do so will force us to turn over all information to our attorney for a libelous statement."

To Whom It May Concern: This is a complaint about American Promotions, Inc. who uses P.O. Box 11 in Harrington Park, NJ 07640 to solicit rebate submissions for recycled Kodak AA batteries which were resold at Schucks Auto Supply, Kragen Auto Parts , Checker Auto Parts or CSK Auto which they fail to pay. According to the Trenton Better Business Bureau, they have a phone number of (973) 777-7000 in Passaic, NJ 07055 and their official rebate query telephone toll-free number according to the box is 1-888-727-5600. The complaint is also against Kodak and CSK Auto dba Schucks, Checkers and Kragen of Phoenix, Arizona in other states. In December, 2004, my girlfriend and each bought a box of 20 "slightly used" and recycled Kodak TM AA batteries at a Seattle Schucks (known in other states as Checkers Auto Parts, Kragen Auto Part and subsidaries of CSK Auto) store for $4.99 each and which came with a rebate of $5.00 each. The rebate was a major reason we bought the batteries. We submitted the rebates in separate envelopes, postage prepaid. This was over eight months ago. We complied fully with the terms of the American Promotions, Inc. rebate offer including providing a rebate receipt provided by Schucks / Kragen / CSK Auto, official American Promotions, Inc. rebate form inside the box of slightly used Kodak AA batteries, used preprinted address labels for our rebate forms to make it easier for them to enter the data and a SASE. According to the back of the box of 20 slightly used AA Kodak TM batteries, American Promotions, Inc. of Clifton, New Jersey 07013 was the company responsible for selling the batteries to the auto parts store. The batteries were the subject of a newspaper article http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/06/12/BUGDLD62SJ1.DTL&type=business which went into greater detail about American Promotions, Inc. business practices (or in my opinion, lack of ethics as they only tell you that the Kodak AA batteries are "used" on the back, not on the front of the box.) The batteries come from Kodak disposable cameras that were turned in for processing. I do thank American Promotions, Inc., Kodak, and Schucks, Kragen, and CSK Auto for recycling them and keeping them out of the landfill. Follow up rebate resubmissions and/or emails to American Promotions, Inc. of Clifton and Harrington Park, NJ as well as CSK Auto Email User have gone unanswered. Emails with return receipts to CSK Auto have been returned unread. I also queried David Lanzillo yesterday who is a spokesperson for Kodak Email User and am waiting for a reply. I also have been unable to find any business listings for American Promotions, Inc. with the telephone company, NJ Secretary of State, Bureau of Taxation and other regulatory authorities. The Better Business Bureau of Trenton http://www.trenton.bbb.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&ComID=0221000026001589 says that the company has an unsatisfactory business record due to unanswered complaints (read rebate problems.) I am still waiting for an answer on my unpaid rebate complaints to the FTC, NJ Office of Consumer Protection, and the mail fraud unit for the United States Post Office. If anyone could tell me who owns the company or their street address and fax number and email address, I would appreciate it. I will forward it to the appropriate authorities for action. Now, every time I use one of these rebate problem AA Kodak batteries, I have one more reason not to buy other reputable Kodak products or shop at Schucks Auto Supply, Checkers Auto Parts, Kragen Auto Parts owned by CSK Auto. And I suspect that I am not alone.
