AAA – Unsatisfactory Emergency Road Service I have been a member of AAA for over 30 years, and seldom use them for anything but emergency road service. Usually, the service is barely acceptable, involving at least a 60 – 90 minute wait for a tow to arrive, but my latest experience topped that. At approximately 3:30P on 11/13/05, my wife and I had an electrical problem with our 1992 Alfa Romeo Spider, which caused the ignition system to fail and which, in turn, instantly killed the engine. We coasted to a stop on the edge of a very heavily travelled, 4-lane, divided highway in North Georgia, approximately 50 miles from home. I immediately called AAA on my cell phone and after several minutes on hold, I finally reached a live person. The temperature was 90
