real canadian superstore spruce grove - general complaint real canadian superstore spruce grove - general complaint August 14, 2005 The real Canadian Superstore, Spruce Grove Alberta.
I've been shopping at this store since it has opened, and witnessed it's steady decline. It's staff are ubdertrained...some of them are even rude! The amount of very basic products are often in limited supply on the shelf, and you receive a shrug when you enquire about delivery. A 14 day refund/exchange program is just insane..It doesn't matter if the product literally blows up in your hand on day 15 'you have to send it to the manufacturer ma'am' .....yah and on my own damn dime! I bought a flash expensive kettle before Xmas once, and returned it boxing day becaue it failed to work after a few days....only to be told that 'sorry ma'am we don't accept returns on boxing day' .....I did explain that it wsn't a gift I was returning, but a defective product from THEI R shelf. Alas.....to no avail.........the carefully programmed staff just chanted their boxing day mantra at me. Anyhow - my latest gripe...FOOD. I bought a few cans of corned beed to stick in the fridge for sandwiches etc. My Husband opened one of them and it was GREEN inside, needless to say, it did not make it to the bread and mayonnaise. A couple of weeks later, my poor Husband decided to microwave one of the frozen pc weight watcher type meals. This turned out to be what can only be dexcribed as a white jelly with a smell which woke the whole house up. It had definately been kept somewhere in an unfrozen state...deteriorated and refrozen...and ....ewww sold. So, what to do? I could of maybe taken both the corned beef and the curry back...I didn't have the receipt, but any savvy consumer can tell you the receipt rules are history if an item is defective. So what would I have received??? I'm guessing a refund...wow...some apology for attempting to poison my spouse. I guess safeway looks better every day. At least they pack for you and help you out to the car...even their supervisors don't look like they are on some kind of giddy trip when they 'walk busily around' with their clipboards......maybe they should be put in the department that checks for crappy food.........wait, that's receiving isn't it? Well good job guys and gals you delivered well...it is all crappy!

Jeez, it's not that important that it needs to be taken back the day after. And ya, sometimes he frozen food gets left out by ignorant customers who just throw food everywhere, but we have to put it back in the freezer, because that's what were told to do! Now that part I don't agree with, pretty sick actually. I tried today to return a defective food item I purchased two days ago and was refused for one of the lamest excuses I've ever heard. Person called herself a "store manager" but would in my opionion have had some difficulty in occupying a position called "idiot". She was rude, obnoxious, totally deficient in any type of customer service skill and generally someone who single handedly drove away a customer who regularly spends about $11,000 per year in "her" store over a $15 refund. Will be shopping somewhere (anywhere) else in future and will NEVER shop in a Superstore again - and will tell as many people as possible to do the same. Maybe one day someone in their organizaton will wake up and finally make the connection between happy customers and paycheques. Ever bought liquid frozen orange juice, or thawed out peas? Its because refrigeration costs them money. They dont casre about the quality of the food. Now the latest money saver is....NO HANDLES ON ICE CREAM PAILS. Now instead of having a pefectly useful item for all manner of things around the home and yard, we have just some more garbage.Well I just can't wait for Walmart to get into more groceries.
